It is with deep regret that I must tender my resignation as your District President. While this job was undertaken with high hopes to serve you to the best of my ability, that was derailed when my life took a drastic turn last October. Since my husband’s emergency double bypass, I have had to return to work full time. It is not fair to you and your schools for me to try to continue in this position when I cannot give it the full attention that it deserves.
I will always be thankful for the trust you put in me when you elected me to be your president. My allegiance remains with all of you and my wishes are for nothing but success for your PTA’s and your schools.
Per the St. Tammany District PTA bylaws:
Article VI: Officers, Section 6.
If a vacancy:
a. Occurs in any office, the unexpired term shall be filled by a person elected by a majority vote of the board of directors, notice of such election having been given.
b. Occurs in the office of President, the first vice president shall serve notice of the election. If necessary, the Louisiana PTA executive committee shall be responsible for the election.
